Working with Grace - Wise Fellow Travelers

Grace’s life experiences, including marriage and divorce; parenthood (raising 3 kids), learning to accept her internal truth and after a long internal battle doing something about it;  returning to school in her late 50s to study something completely different; writing 3 books in her 60s; starting a training and speaking business; and learning how to inspire people to live their truth, provide her the skills and knowledge to help people to work with the various changes that impact their lives.

Grace understands that Compassionate Coaching approaches change in a manner to help clients work with their empathic system rather than their stress system,  while the various stressors and fears associated with change, will often act as blockers to long term change. 

Grace’s approach to coaching includes psycho-education on topics that include relationships, change, stress, and fears along with creating a resonant, supportive relationship with the client.  They will become wise fellow travelers.

•Grace recommends to work together in 10-week commitments and work within the Intentional Change model integrated with the IFS model of working with your parts

  • NOTE: Any patch or update must be tested that new features work, and old features are not broken.  Any features that are no longer supported MUST be communicated to your users/customers


As Humans

  • We each have our very own, very unique operating system
  • Let’s call this – My own Human Operating System – or – MoHOS
  • Note:  Think of changes in your life as an update to your MoHOS

Your Ideal Self - The Passion Test

The purpose of the Passion Test is to get clear on what is most important to us – what we want to have, do or be to live our ideal life.  It is our vision for ourselves.

The Passion Test is a tool that with supportive, compassionate coaching is the first step on the process of discovering and/or implementing change 

•Our passions are most often fluid and can/should be reviewed on a regular basis.

•The challenge most of us deal with is whether we choose to live a life of our passions.  Coaching helps.

•The key is to be open to whatever shows up

This means letting go of the way we think it should be.


When we do this, the results will always be better than anything we can imagine


The “secret” to working  with your results is Intention – Attention – No Tension

The IFS Model believes in Self Leadership of all a person’s parts.

Intentional Change Theory is at the heart of compassionate coaching.  It has 5 primary steps

Ideal Self

I offer personalized coaching to help you unlock your full potential. We will work on your self-awareness, mindset, and emotional intelligence to help you overcome limiting beliefs and achieve your dreams.

Real Self

Help the client learn awareness of their strengths and weaknesses, and their gifts

Learning Agenda

Help the client create a plan on what steps they want to take to implement the changes occurring or desired

Experimenting and Practice

Support the client as they lead themselves through the above experimental steps

Resonant Relationship & Social Group Identity

Support the client through the effort as a fellow traveler on their journey

Every change will find us somewhere on these steps.  We can move quickly or slowly. We can get stuck on one and stay for a while .   I like the overall view to see where I've been.  Perhaps you may find it useful also.

A typical initial 10 week coaching commitment

Sessions

Each session with Grace will be for 1 hour.  It can be over Zoom or a voice call.  


It is preferable to be set for a regular set time each week, but Grace can be flexible to meet  your needs.


Grace recognizes that each person and their journeys are unique.   There are no preplanned requirements, paths or goals set for a client.  We will be fellow travelers on the client's journey

The initial work is for the client to clarify their view of their Ideal Self.   The Passion Test is used as one of the tools that help this, although other tools will be used.


My own experience with the PassionTest has multiple times provided me with some surprises that resulted in my own deep thought and acknowledgement...We are taking 2 weeks for this clarification to do the work and include time to process the results

Identify the client's strengths, weaknesses and gifts, that will aid them on their journey of change in order to deal with the roadblocks they may encounter on the journey and help them in making lasting change.


It is likely the client will begin to build new relationships with some of their parts and learn how to have a positive relartionship with them

At this point, the client has focus on the area or areas of their ideal self they desire to pursue.  The client, with Grace will create a plan with the intention of following it, to  begin the change journey.   


There are no preformed ideas around the plans or the journeys.  The client is in control of this.   There may or may not be specific goals that the client wants to achieve.  There may be markers established to see if the client is on track.

These 4 weeks are time to check in where the client is on their  experiments along the journey and receiving feedback.  Plans are likely to change during these efforts as they practice and receive feedback both internally and externally.  


Work on the the client's empathic network and reduce any stress and fear that may appear on the journey.  Encourage the client to becoming comfortable with any new identity they may discover on the journey and any new social identity groups they take part in.


Although not specifically set, it is expected that during these session some of the learning areas noted on this site will be explored.

There are a few options available for the last session of the initial commitment.


A review of the journey and the experience is always part of this session.


It is possible, the client may want to continue another coaching cycle for a variety of reasons.  If this is so, we will continue the journey as fellow travelers.
